WNC vs. CSN. If that simple statement doesn't make the juices flow of any junior college baseball fan related to either program, then that person doesn't have a pulse.

Western Nevada College will travel to College of Southern Nevada this weekend for a four-game series. The two teams will play a doubleheader, beginning at 4 p.m. Friday in Henderson.

DRESSLERVILLE – Vincent Mays was a double winner in his ring debut for Bruno's Boxing Club during its Amateur Boxing Invitational on Saturday night.

Mays outpointed Jose Arenas of Sacramento in a closely contested 112-pound bout and picked up another trophy later in the evening when he received the Outstanding Boxer award for the 21-bout event hosted by Bruno's before a turnout of more than 200 fans at Dresslerville Gym.

Mike Arnold of Carson City and Idaho State University soared to another personal record in the pole vault, locking up a berth in the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships by jumping 17-feet, 7-3/4 inches at the University of Washington Final Qualifier held on Saturday at Dempsey Fieldhouse in Seattle.

Arnold, a sophomore at Idaho State, cleared the p.r. height on his second attempt to finish in a five-way tie for second-place. The mark ranks among the top 10 nationally going into the NCAA nationals, which will be held this coming Friday and Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
