Blake Sly is not one to back down from any challenge. Especially on a tennis court.

That's why, even with an abundance of talented Northern 4A players returning this season, the Carson High junior is ready to take on all challengers. Obviously, the results still aren't in, but at the very least, his confidence level is high right now. So is his focus.

Obviously, the Carson High boys tennis team was upbeat about winning its season home opener against Incline on Thursday afternoon. What particularly pleased coach Kevin Fallon, however, was the way the Senators picked up some clutch points that led to the 13-5 victory over the Highlanders.

Freshman's early goal lifts Carson boys soccer to 1-0 win at Reno PDF Print E-mail

Freshman Jonathan Guevara only needed two minutes to score his first career goal for the Carson High boys soccer team.

As it turned out, Guevara's early goal stood up as a game-winner as the Senators turned back the Reno Huskies, 1-0, in a season-opening contest on Wednesday night at Reno High's Foster Field.
