A quartet of Carson High athletes returned home from Fresno, Calif., with good results from Run For The Dream indoor track and field invitational on Saturday.

Blake McCoy and Nick Bukamy placed sixth and eighth respectively in the boys weight throw, Richard Shroy placed 10th overall in the boys mile run and Jennifer Van Sickle finished 11th in the girls weight throw during competition held at the Save Mart Center.

McCoy placed sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 43 feet, 6 inches on his first attempt, while Bukamy placed eighth at 39-0-3/4.

Van Sickle posted a personal record distance of 24-2-1/4 on her second attempt to finish 11th. Katie Kraychir of Desert Hot Springs (Twentynine Palms, Calif.) posted a winning throw of 60-1-1/2 that ranks as the sixth best all-time high school mark in the U.S.

Shroy ran a time of 4 minutes, 35.66 minutes that was the 10th fastest overall and third best in his heat. The time was a personal record for one mile.
